Open to all makes as well, and Ian could win again as well  ;D

Well now, that wouldn't be fair  ::) ;D

You tell the dual event people to arrive at least one hour before the race, setup their show display, and they will be judged right then.

6:30 am for "race car judging"?  most of the volunteer judges were also in the show and arrived with the majority of the show cars, 9am(ish, or later).  I can only suggest a mid-day "lunch break" to judge the race cars

I like your idea Scott...

This year's drivers meeting was at 9:30.  I say we plan on a 9:30 drivers meeting next year and racers have to be set up by 8:30 to be judged.

We could do a race class judging in the"pits"  for autocrossing.  Let them start the racing and we judge between heats.  Open to all makes as well, and Ian could win again as well  ;D

I think the problem with trying to judge in between heat is that people are cooling thier cars, adjustments (if any), and also working the track. So I think it would be difficult to judge eveyone fairly.

A pre-race judging would be good idea or schedule a break mid morning and then have have everyone lined up who wants to be judged in a particular area and get those guys judged.

Sorry if my comments came off real negative, especially against Ian, I didn't really mean it that way. Mark was awesome to watch, and you were great as well and deserved to win the class. I guess the thing most of us that raced (at least the comments I overheard while waiting in the shade of the tower) really wanted to know at the end of the day is where we all landed, and that was rather glossed over. This being only my third AutoX event, I didn't expect to do great. I just did it to be able to "race" at PPIR, have fun, and still be able to drive back to OKC the next day in my DD.

Possibly several ribbons for each class would do for next year - especially if we can get more people to drive instead of sit. Just an idea.

No worries, thank you.   I walked around for a bit with the final standings, but didn't know all who autocrossed, so I know I missed a few.  There are definitely some lessons to be learned from the first at this venue, and I'm more than positive the DATR crew are looking at all the concerns and will make adjustments as necessary.

I think the entire DATR crew should be extremely proud of the show they put on - it turned out absolutely fantastic and think that the community's expectations were greatly exceeded.  Congratulation s to each and every one of you!

Hi guys,  I happened to be in town visiting my place and stopped by the show.  I saw lots of my old audi friends, but I didn't recognize any of the old skool dub guys, but then again my memory ain't all that great anymore!

I had a good time, things seemed fairly well organized.  I do wish the cars were a little better placed in groups though, and not parked side by side by side.  The aircooled side looked more like a nice corral then the water cooled side to my eye, especially since you had all that real estate out there...

I actually didnt get much of a chance to see the AC side of the house. I think it would be pretty nice if the cars were arranged differently as well... the issue is space and judging. Hmm... we could park people in angles?

Possibly mix in the AC and WC cars? Or even not park in order of generation?

Well pics would be GREAT since I couldn't even get in!!! Yes I'm still FUCKING SALTY!!

It was that hard to find a gas station somewhere?

It actually was since PPIR is in the middle of nowhere. Last year I wasn't able to make it and the year before that it was held at the Citadel pkng lot, which was free, so I assumed it would be free to get in this year. But there's always next year and I will BE SURE to carry cash...BTW, are there vendors that sell food there? I might want to have a booth there next year and sell some hot dogs, fried wings, and such.

Bummer, never been to PPIR so didn't know but assumed a race track would have a gas station nearby. A food tent is a good idea, was there anything like that this year?

We had a couple of garages set aside with tables and chairs.  The food vendors were right around the corner from this garage.  Worked out pretty well considering we were selling water and gatorade there as well
