european bumpers
« on: January 28, 2010, 05:56:05 PM »

I'd like to buy some euro bumpers for my 4dr 84 rabbit. the stock bumpers are just too ugly. let me know what you have. i'd also like to get some fender flares. let me know your price.

Good luck, I got lucky with my euro bumpers. We could always drill the shocks and mount your bumper closer to the body.

You'd have to double check the bumper frame (you can see it from underneath), as with my 84 GTI, the bumper frame is "solid" so you can't just drill and push them in... it requires cutting and welding

If you wanted to cut and weld them - I'd be happy to help.  Just cut them up and prep them and I will weld them for a 6-pack.

I don't know why, but I never liked mk1s with bumpers. Of coarse, the first thing I used to do with any VW I bought was rip the bumpers off untill I got the TDI.

I like the rabbit body without bumpers. Caddy is meh, Scirocco looks good with short bumpers. and most of the time look like a toothless grandpa without them.
