Dubs Along The Rockies 2010

Were pleased to officially announce the 9th Annual Dubs Along the Rockies VW & Audi Enthusiast Event! This year's DATR event will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Pike Peak International Raceway, Fountain, CO. The following is a brief list of show details goals and info:

DATR 2010 EUROTUNER AD

Keep an eye out for this ad in the July or August issue of Eurotuner which hits the shelves in mid-June and mid-July.

EVENTS

Show & Shine - Classes by make and generation. Award winners will include best of class and runner-up trophies.

Autocross Event – Will be monitored by Pikes Peak Sports Car Club at Pikes Peak International Raceway. PPSCC will set up an autocross event for all participants who wish to run their vehicle.

Slow Drags - The opposite of regular drag racing. The last one to the finish line wins. It's not just about going slow; it's about going slow in style.

Event Specials - We have a number of awesome sponsors and vendors that will be at the event offering specials on their products and services.

A Huge Raffle - Prizes separated by vehicle type and generation will also be taking place throughout the day.

ADDITIONAL INFO

Pre-register for all events online for the best prices; day of event registration will be available but pre-registration is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED. Pre-Registration will open May 2010.

Event t-shirts will be available. Pricing and sizing info will be up soon.

Volunteers are needed for assisting in day of event operations. Please contact Mr. Chris Durham at chris@dubsalongtherockies.com for available tasks.

THIS EVENT IS ABSOLUTELY 100% ALCOHOL FREE! This has recently become a new requirement in order for us to obtain insurance coverage for the show. The will be a ZERO TOLERANCE policy in effect which will be enforced by event staff personnel and the local police department.

We hate to have things this way but incidents in the VAG community demand that we take any steps necessary to ensure that our event be safe for all in attendance.

UPDATES

As more information becomes available, the DATR staff will update www.dubsalongtherockies.com website and start specific threads in the event forums of VWVortex and Fortitude and update them accordingly. Having separate threads will making finding specific info and details easier. If there are any questions in the mean time, please contact any of the DATR staff through the DATR website for the quickest response. Please keep in mind that organizing this show is an on-going operation so some of the info you want may not be available but will update information as soon as it is available.

With that said, be sure to mark your calendars for 22 August 2010! We look forward to having everyone at the event!

I'm going to try and make this one. I completely spaced out 2009 and 2008 the Army had different plans for me. Hopefully all goes well for 2010.

Get involved with the volunteer stuff if you can, it helps out quite a bit. You should see some volunteer stuff come out hear pretty quick.

There is a lot of help needed day of show, and the Saturday before hand, preparing the site.

-Mixed parking (cars no longer parked in groups)
-Sponsor class (for cars that park in the sponsor area so that they can be eligible for awards. Sponsor cars still not classed with regular show cars)
-Best of show is people's choice

Registration is going to be in the same building with the same hours (9-12) and the judges will be using the same criteria as last year. Pre-registration still gets you a discount as does volunteering for the show.

I think the last time I saw you was at DATR 08 with you DJing. Did you ever get your golf finished? I missed seeing updates to your build thread.

FYI; slight change to registration times and judging start. Show registration opens at 8am and closes at 11am when judging starts.

Were due in October too, recession baby's all over

Last year I was getting married durring DATR and well the GolfKart is never finished..
Its in better shape, sorta.. I work on it every once and a while.. I put new tires, rims and R32 brakes on it in the last few weeks/months. Its coming along and I'll keep throwing man hours at it until its done, I'll let ya all know in a few years

This year I'll bring out my four door grocery getter, its been getting the majority of my attention lately

I'll be honest in saying that after winning my class the previous year, I was disappointed that it got overlooked and wasn't even judged last year. Glad to see these changes. See you guys on Sunday.
