Fox Wagon and a 4x4 3/4Ton
« on: November 02, 2009, 09:01:00 PM »

Looking for a Fox wagon without rust or serious body issues.  Drivetrain unimportant.

4x4 1/2 or 3/4 ton domestic - really prefer extra or crew cab.

Yep.  I've got some feelers out and leads on about 4 or 5, but hoping to find one locally.

Plan is to replace the GTI with a Wagon daily driver, and a full size truck for hauling/towing house duties.

Wagon will be modded of course.  Got a few ideas that I think are neat.

I have a line on a trailer, but will wait until I find a cheap one - but can't wait for that day to come.

Pics and price?

I know about the QSW's around for sale - even considering a few early 4KQ Audis, just prefer the simplicity of a Fox.  Hell, I am looking at a Syncro Vanagon Thurs so my options are open.

I always regretted selling my '93, so this '84 may stick around for a while.  I do need to remove the lean-burn ignition system, though - know how to do that?

I got a truck so don't need pics - thanks.

I have minimal plans for the Dodge.  New ignition and a if I trip over a 4-barrel setup at a swap meet.  Headers and dual exhaust are cheap, but I don't want it very loud, really.  Just a bit more mpg and power.

man I would buy the manifold/injectors and parts off a newer 318 from the junkyard! EFI will get better milage than the carb. But I know you at least know your way around a carb.

I was getting up to 16mpg on a good day with my 4x4 truck with 31x10.50's on it.
